Julian holds the Deer Stalking Certificate Level 1 (DSC1), awarded by Deer Management Qualifications — the industry-recognised standard for professional deer management in the UK.
He is also a Trained Hunter, having passed the National Gamekeepers’ Organisation Game Meat Hygiene Course (Level 2) in May 2025 — an FSA-approved qualification under Regulation 853/2004 covering large and small game.
Together these demonstrate proven knowledge and competence across all aspects of safe, legal, and humane deer management, and of correct game handling and hygiene.

The team at AGM have been to assess the land I own and carried out a survey, which was very interesting as I didn’t realise we had so many deer on the land, along with some muntjac we have a healthy population of Roe deer. We have put a plan together, they have completed a thorough site survey for the safety side of the cull plan, and I have approved what they suggested, and I will wait to see what their first outing brings.
Julian and his team have been looking after my land for a couple of years now, they are very thorough and always looking at the safety aspect of shooting and the deer control.
I contacted Julian at AGM to ask if he would come and take a look at some land for me which had Muntjac, Roe and rabbits on, which were becoming a pest, he came over and walked round the fields, he looked at the land and fields surrounding and came up with a plan, he saw a number of Roe and suggested he removed half over a period of months and then looked at what was left later, as he explained that what he removed would be replaced by others from surrounding farms and land, which is what happened, so we will look at it again and make a new plan, the muntjac are being removed slowly, and also he was able to reduce the number of rabbits which is great.
